Welcome to Sri Lanka!
Your trip starts with picking you up at the airport or any designated location near Colombo and driving you to the hotel in Dambulla. Depending on your arrival times and your jet lag either we could directly drop you off at the hotel to get some well needed rest or otherwise you have the option of stopping by for a Dambulla Markets Experience on the way to the hotel.
Dambulla has several street markets that are popular among locals and tourists. These markets are known for their vibrant atmosphere and offer a unique shopping experience. You can find a variety of items such as clothes, accessories, toys, and local handicrafts. Bargaining is common in these markets, so be prepared to negotiate for the best prices.

On Day 2 you will see the world famous Sigiriya Lion Rock Fortress. It is best to climb the rock in the morning to avoid the midday heat. And it is best to wear your runners or hiking shoes for grabbing this experience, as you will be climbing very steep, narrow staircases to get to the top to experience the breathtaking view. After your Sigiriya Rock climb village experience in Sigiriya is a great way to immerse yourself in Sri Lankan culture and learn about the daily life of the locals. It’s a unique and authentic experience that you won’t forget! Later in the afternoon you have the option of having a relaxing traditional Ayurvedic massage to rejuvenating your body and mind.

Today you are heading from Sigiriya to Kandy and your journey starts with a visit to the ancient Cave Temples of Dambulla Raja Maha Viharaya. Be prepared for a steep climb when you are visiting this temple, however you will not regret the view and magnificent ancient architecture after reaching the top. Further on the way to Kandy, you will visit a spice garden in Matale, where you can also have your lunch, and see the ancient stone temple of Nalanda Gedige. Drive from Sigiriya to Matale is about 1.5 hours and from Matale to Kandy is about another 1 hour. After arriving in Kandy, you will be dropped off at the hotel for checking in. In the evening you have the option of doing the Kandy city tour and Cultural show depending on your preference and mood.

Visiting the Temple of the Tooth early in the morning is a great way to experience the spiritual atmosphere of this important pilgrimage site. The Temple of the Tooth, also known as Sri Dalada Maligawa, is a Buddhist temple located in the heart of Kandy. It’s one of Sri Lanka’s most important religious and cultural sites and is believed to house a tooth of the Buddha. After that you will be driven to the coastal town of Wadduwa famous for rich cultivation of coconut palms and as a major producer of toddy and vinegar.
On the way to Wadduwa from Kandy you can visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, a well-known elephant sanctuary located in Pinnawala, Sri Lanka. It was established in 1975 by the Sri Lankan Department of Wildlife Conservation as a refuge for orphaned and injured elephants, as well as a breeding center for captive elephants. The orphanage is home to a large number of elephants, making it one of the most popular tourist attractions in Sri Lanka. The distance from Kandy to Pinnawala is approximately 33 kilometers and takes about 1.5 hours depending on the traffic by car and it takes about another 2.5 Hours to reach Wadduwa from Pinnawal.

As your Sri Lanka tour comes to an end, the last day of your trip will depend on your flight time. If your flight is in the evening or late at night, we can organize a late check-out from your hotel, subject to availability and additional charges.Late check-out will allow you to have more time to explore the city or relax before your departure. You can store your luggage at the hotel and enjoy your final day in Sri Lanka without worrying about your belongings. The distance from Wadduwa to Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), which is the main international airport in Sri Lanka, is approximately 75 kilometers and usually takes about 2 hours by car.
