This morning your tour guide will pick you up after breakfast and will drive you to Galle, on the way you can visit the Turtle Hatchery (optional) or do a boat tour on the Madu River (optional). Distance from Colombo to Galle is 150 km and you will reach Galle within 2 hrs 15 minutes. Next check in into your hotel. In the afternoon, your tour guide will accompany you on a walking tour through what is the best-preserved colonial town in Sri Lanka, Galle Fort.

Today, you will be accompanied by your tour guide to go trekking at Kanneliya, which is designated as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO. This is a short drive from Galle Fort. After breakfast in the morning, your tour guide will pick you up for the journey to the up-country of the Island. You will notice a transition of hot weather to slight crisp chilliness when you reach Ella, due to the elevation from the sea level. You can relax at the home stay or go on a pub scroll in the vibrant touristy strip in Ella in the afternoon depending on your mood. On the way to Ella you have the option of visiting the Udawalawe Elephant Transit home or even doing a safari at Udawalawe National Park (optional) then visiting Ravana waterfalls to Ella. Today, you will get to enjoy the unforgettable experience of the scenic train ride from Ella to Nuwara Eliya. As you get off from the train at Nuwara Eliya, your guide will be there waiting to pick you up. On your way to Kandy, you will see how the world-famous Ceylon tea is made at a tea factory, you will have the opportunity to participate in a tea tasting session. By the afternoon you will reach the ancient hill capital city of Kandy and you will be dropped off at your hotel for resting and relaxation. Distance from Nuwara Eliya to Kandy is 100 km and you will reach Kandy within 3 hrs 15 minutes.

On Day 7 after breakfast, you will be taken to visit the most sacred temple in Sri Lanka, Sri Dalada Maligawa. There you can join for the early morning rituals and prayer services in the temple. Optionally you can visit the Royal Botanical Garden. After lunch, you will be taken on the Kandy City Tour followed by the Cultural Dance Show. In the evening you have the option of relaxing at the hotel or your tour guide can take you on a bar hopping session upon your preference.

Today you will have to say goodbye to the beautiful hill capital Kandy and start your journey towards the North Central province of the island. On the way to Sigiriya you will visit a spice garden in Matale with a cooking demonstration and then see the ancient stone temple of Nalanda Gedige near Matale. Distance from Kandy to Sigiriya is 93 km and you will reach Kandy within 2 hrs 30 minutes.

After that, you will visit the ancient Cave Temples of Dambulla Raja Maha Viharaya on your way to Sigiriya. Be prepared for a steep climb when you are visiting this temple, however you will not regret the view and magnificent ancient architecture after reaching the top. At the end of the day, you will be dropped at your hotel for your well needed rest and relaxation.

On Day 9 you will get to see the world famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress. It is best to climb the rock in the morning to avoid the midday heat. And it is best to wear your runners or hiking shoes for grabbing this experience, as you will be climbing very steep, narrow staircases to get to the top to experience the breathtaking view. Later you will be driven to Polonnaruwa for the Polonnaruwa Archaeological city tour. Distance from Sigiriya to Polonnaruwa is 60 km and you will reach Polonnaruwa within 1 hrs 15 minutes.

Before leaving for Trincomalee from Sigiriya, there is one last place that you must visit! That is Pidurangala. Make sure you are ready for an early start on Day 10. After that you will be driven to Trincomalee, the east coast city of Sri Lanka. Distance from Sigiriya to Trincomalee is 100 km and you will reach Kandy within 2 hrs.

This day will be a busy day again after getting some well needed rest during the last day. Today is the safari day. Say goodbye to Trincomalee and start your journey back to the west coast of the country in the early morning. On the way you will visit the Wilpattu National Park for a safari trip. After finishing the safari, you will be driven to your last destination of the round trip, Negombo. Distance from Trincomalee to Wilpattu is 145 km and you will reach Wilpattu within 2 hrs and 45 minutes

Negombo is usually the first or last city for most travelers due to the proximity to the Bandaranaike Memorial International Airport. You can enjoy a City Tour and later you can hit the famous beach side tourist strip to grab a drink or dinner during your stay in Negombo.

As your Sri Lanka tour comes to an end, the last day of your trip will depend on your flight time. If your flight is in the evening or late at night, we can organize a late check-out from your hotel, subject to availability and additional charges.Late check-out will allow you to have more time to explore the city or relax before your departure. You can store your luggage at the hotel and enjoy your final day in Sri Lanka without worrying about your belongings.

The distance from Colombo to Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), which is the main international airport in Sri Lanka, is approximately 35 kilometers and usually takes about 1 hour by car.
